About Us

Being resident at the UP College of Music, the Trio was named in honor of Filipino violinist Carmencita Lozada (1940-2006), who won the International Paganini Competition in Genoa, Italy twice (4th prize 1957, 2nd prize 1961).

The Lozada Piano Trio is the only chamber music ensemble in the Philippines pursuing regular weekly rehearsals throughout the year. It focuses primarily on Classical Music also promoting contemporary Filipino composers. This dedication has enabled it to steadily progress towards an international competition level qualification. Studio quality recordings are available on Youtube, Vimeo and Spotify.

LPT is advised by members of the Eliot Quartett who have catapulted themselves to the world elite by winning many esteemed prizes – in 2018 alone - 2nd prize Internationaler Mozart Wettbewerb Salzburg, Preis des deutschen Musikwettbewerbs and 2nd prize Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition.

Born of Austrian and Friuli-Venetian descent Prof. Ferdinand Grossmann (founder of the Wiener Sängerknaben) brought him to the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna (1964). In Vienna he studied voice under the sopranos Hilde Konetzni and Hilde Güden.

In 2003 he founded Laureate Concert Group (LCG) in support of excelling students in piano, violin, voice in the genres Art Song and Chamber Music. Several of these talents have meanwhile won key international prizes

(Honens International Piano Competition, Calgary and Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD, Munich).

After 15 years of intensive research LCG was able to mature tonewood - Cremonawood(TM) - producing exactly the same sound qualities as Italian 18th century violins. Several internationally respected string players are now playing on instruments built from Cremonawood(TM).
